Low Voltage Standoff Insulators:
The AM6 low voltage standoff insulator range provides excellent mechanical strength and electrical insulation, making it suitable for a wide range of low-voltage assemblies. Post insulators, egg insulators, bobbin insulators, and busbar isolators are also other names for standoff insulators. Termate AM6 standoff insulators are available in thread sizes of M8 to M16, including heights ranging from 60mm to 100mm. Our datasheet and the table above list the heights, thread depths and diameters, cantilever and tensile strengths, maximum tightening torques, and box quantities. They also possess the following characteristics:
- Halogen Free
- Relative Thermal Index ranging from -20°C up to +130°C (-4°F up to +266°F)
- Equipment voltage of up to 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC
- Insulation voltage of up to 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC
- Made from UL94-V0 rated, self-extinguishing material
- UL Recognised Component; file number E505645

Manufacture:
Termate AM6 standoff insulators are made from a halogen-free glass-reinforced material with threaded brass inserts for better corrosion resistance. The injection moulding method, which we utilise to make the bulk of our low-voltage power distribution parts, including our standoff insulators, enhances overall product quality and allows for close dimensional tolerances.
Testing:
Any component that will be used in an electrical or mechanical system must be thoroughly tested. The AM6 standoff insulator has undergone extensive, rigorous, and independent testing to ensure functionality when installed correctly in its intended application.
UL 94 is one of the most widely employed methods of evaluating the flammability and self-extinguishing ability of plastic products. The AM6 low voltage insulator is manufactured from material meeting the UL94-V0 flammability rating for plastics.
For low-voltage switchgear and control devices, the AM6 standoff insulator range has been developed and tested in accordance with the IEC/BS EN 61439 Standard. Termate insulators have been thoroughly tested, including cantilever, torque, and tensile tests, to help ensure that they meet the specific ratings when installed correctly.
Application:
AM6 standoff insulators are designed to safely and securely support and insulate busbars and other active conductors by maintaining a space between two surfaces. It is suitable for assemblies up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC. In these types of systems, the support’s electrical insulation and mechanical strength are crucial. The following are examples of common installations:
- Electrical panel boards
- Control panels
- Switchboards
- Power factor correction
- Distribution boards
- Generators
- Switchgear
- Controlgear
- Drives
These electrical installations are utilised in a variety of industries, including power distribution, rail (rolling stock and trackside), UPS (temporary and emergency power), data centre power distribution, and renewable energy.
